The Mind: the fractal roll-up
A workspace is not just a container for data; it is a bounded context that can be asked how it is doing. The Mind is the object that answers, fusing a workspace's knowledge, load, and value into one reading, and then it rolls up fractally: a node's Mind is composed over its cells' and its edge agents' Minds, and the same discipline continues up to the organization. It is what lets an operator ask "how is my whole network doing?" and get an answer that survives churn and never fabricates a number.

The Workspace Mind fuses three axes for one workspace, and it keeps them distinct on the way up:

The roll-up, and the edge is part of it
A Node Mind is both the node's own Mind and a fractal roll-up composed over its cells' and its edge agents' Minds, so a node reflects the whole network while persisting through cell and device churn. A persisted snapshot means a node can answer instantly, even while its children are unreachable.

The invariants that survive the roll-up
These are what make the roll-up trustworthy rather than a dashboard average:
- Coherence and net-potential are distinct axes and never collapsed. Strong internal agreement with low net gain surfaces as extractive, a cartel, never as "aligned."
- The most-concerning child mode surfaces, rather than being averaged away.
- Absent signals stay absent. A missing reading is reported as unknown, never fabricated as a zero.
- Load is a work quantity and value is a value quantity, reported side by side, never thresholded through one another.
- A transient load spike is not damage. Only a sustained breach is, and it is reported as debt owed compensation rather than an alarm.
The physical axis rolls up too, cell → rack → zone → region, plus service-group and entity-group aggregation, so an operator can ask a region the same question a workspace owner asks of a workspace.
Why it is different
- It is an executive engine, not a monitoring roll-up. Every level is a governed decision-maker with its own view, band, budget, and refusal, the level above sees what the level below decided and why. See core and edge and the estate hierarchy.
- It answers during churn. A persisted node snapshot means the estate can answer when the network cannot, and an edge agent that loses its link becomes a sub-conductor and rejoins with its history intact.
- It refuses to fabricate. Unknown stays unknown; extractive coherence is not laundered into "aligned."
