Accessibility Statement
System9 is committed to making this documentation site usable by everyone, including people who rely on assistive technology. This statement describes the accessibility posture of the documentation site at docs.system9.ai.
The System9 product surfaces (the marketing site and the platform application) carry their own accessibility reports; this statement covers the documentation site only.
Conformance target
We hold this site to WCAG 2.1 Level AA. This is a self-assessment: we verify conformance with automated tooling and manual review on every change. An independent third-party audit has not yet been performed, so we do not claim full conformance, where we know of a gap, we list it under Known limitations.
What we do to keep it accessible
Accessibility is enforced on every build, not checked after the fact:
- An automated accessibility gate runs on every build. The site's static
output is scanned with axe-core, the
same engine the rest of System9 uses, against the WCAG 2.1 A and AA rule set.
A violation fails the build. See
npm run test:a11yin the repository. - Both color themes are checked. Every page is scanned in light and dark, because the house palette is theme-aware and contrast has to hold in each.
- AA color contrast in both themes. Body text, links, and UI chrome meet the WCAG AA contrast thresholds in light and dark, and in-prose links are underlined so they are distinguishable without relying on color.
- Every diagram has a text equivalent. Diagrams follow a house diagram accessibility contract: color is never the only carrier of meaning, every meaningful node carries a glyph as well as a hue, and every figure ships an equivalent Markdown table so a screen-reader, print, or monochrome reader gets the full content.
- Keyboard and screen-reader support. A skip-to-content link, semantic landmarks, logical heading order, visible focus indicators, and full keyboard operation are present on every page.
- Reduced motion. Animations and transitions are suppressed for readers who set the operating-system "reduce motion" preference.
Compatibility
This site is designed to work with current versions of major browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge) together with their platform screen readers, at browser zoom up to 200%, and with operating-system high-contrast and reduced-motion settings enabled.
Known limitations
- Diagrams render in the browser. Diagrams are drawn client-side. Every diagram is paired with an equivalent Markdown table that carries the same entities and relationships, so the content is fully available without the rendered figure.
- No independent audit yet. The conformance claim above rests on internal automated and manual testing. A third-party audit is planned.
